What is the purpose of MCTA?
The Massachusetts Collectors & Treasurers Association (MCTA) is dedicated to the education and ongoing professional development of the treasurers and collectors of the State's 351 municipalities and numerous districts. The Association sponsors an Annual School to assist members in obtaining certification in addition to sponsoring numerous educational meetings throughout the year.
How often does the Education Committee Meet?
The Education Committee meets throughout the year (usually quarterly) depending upon schedules and needs of the association.
How many people are on the Education Committee?
Consists of ten members. The Third Vice-President then nine other members. Each member has a 3-year term.
What does the Education Committee do?
The Education Committee selects speakers and programs throughout the year. A “Normal Year” the schedule is as follows:
Spring Meeting - April
New Treasurer/Collectors Day - May
Annual Conference - June 2022
Annual School – UMASS Amherst – August
Staff School – September
Fall Meeting - November
Besides the Conferences and School what else does the Education Committee do?
This year the Education Committee is establishing two separate sub-committees
Exam Review Committee and Curriculum Committee
